AVESTA FCW 317L is designed for welding austenitic stainless steels type 18 Cr 14 Ni 3 Mo and similar. The enhanced content of Cr, Ni and Mo compared to 316L gives even better corrosion properties, primarily in acid chlorine containing environments. AVESTA FCW 317L can also be used for welding type 317L to ASTM 304 and 316. When welding type 317L to mild steel AVESTA P5 is recommended.
